Bellevue, Washington, USA, October 24, 2011— DATA-LINC GROUP announced today the latest enhancement to its CIX anad SRM Families of license-free frequency hopping spread spectrum wireless modems renowned for their exceptional long-range, robust and reliable performance in the harshest industrial environments. The radio modules, common to its serial, Ethernet with serial tunneling and Remote I/O modems for both the 900 MHz and the 2.4 GHz license-free bands, offer new internal logics that will extend product longevity and future support. They also feature a faster processor and increased security with AES-256 encryption.

As in earlier models, the serial function of the SRM6230 and SRM6330 is compatible with most protocols and provides backward compatibility for not only the SRM serial modems, but for the legacy SRM Ethernet and Ethernet with serial tunneling modems as well. The enhanced 6x3x radio modules provide greater firmware capacity to facilitate adding features in the future without the need to purchase new units, thereby providing extended product life.

A legacy serial network may be easily upgraded with the newest SRM6030 (900 MHz) or SRM6130 (2.4 GHz) serial modems and even to Ethernet without the need to replace the legacy SRM modems. Both of the upgraded Ethernet with serial tunneling modems (900 MHz SRM6230 and the 2.4 GHz SRM6330) can replace serial, Ethernet or legacy Ethernet with serial tunneling “hybrid” products. The same is true for the CIX Ethernet with serial tunneling to wireless Remote I/O Systems as well.
